The launch of the digital campaign of Deron Williams marked a truly pioneering accomplishment both for him and for us. With the onset of the 2011 NBA lockout, Deron decided to take his entire family to live abroad -- an experience he (and they) had never had before -- and to play basketball internationally for the Turkish team Besiktas. It was a journey of a lifetime, and one which we had the pleasure helping him chronicle in a way that had never been done before. Using the relaunched DeronWilliams.com, a combination of original news and blog content, and Deron's Facebook and Twitter pages, fans and media around the world were able to witness and participate in his day-to-day experiences, on and off the court. Live From Turkey, as the site was subtitled, provided one of the most intimate, substantive glimpses into the life of one of the premier basketball players in the world. Interest grew his social media followings dramatically while transforming Deron's web site into a highly trafficked destination for fans from the United States, Turkey and other countries worldwide.
