Jason Kidd is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. That isn’t just a subjective opinion. At the start of the 2010-11 season, he ranked among the top five players in NBA history in assists (10,923, second), triple doubles (105, third), steals (2,342, fourth) and three-pointers (1,662 fifth). When developing Jason’s branding campaign, we wanted to emphasize his status as a future Hall of Famer, yet at the same time, continue to showcase the vibrant, energetic leader he remains. Initially, that began with the aesthetics of his web site. On the one hand, some home page elements spoke to his accomplishments and visually conveyed a reverent feel. Yet at the same time, regular content updates, new imagery and video clips showcased his current achievements, and the welfare of his team, the Dallas Mavericks. In the summer of 2010, we filmed in-depth, exclusive interviews with Jason about a wide range of subjects, none of which he had ever spoken about it great detail. Those interviews became the basis of A Conversation With Jason Kidd, the content of which has been distributed through his online networks (web/social), through the Dallas Mavericks and the NBA.
